McKenzie’s Brownies
These are divine! Also, the best part is they are super easy and so much better than a box.
1 cup butter
4 squares (1 ounce each) Baker’s unsweetened baking chocolate
2 cups sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons Kahlua-I use the cap to the Kahlua bottle
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup flour
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts*
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Melt butter and chocolate over low to medium heat. Stir until smooth. Add sugar, salt and Kahlua. Allow to cool 5 minutes. Stir in eggs until well incorporated. Add flour and mix well. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Pour into a Pam-sprayed 9x13-inch baking dish. Spread brownie mix evenly. Bake at 325 degrees for 35 minutes, until edges are firm and the center is set, but not totally done.
*If your family is like mine, they do not like nuts (what is wrong with them?), then double the chocolate chips.
