Maggie's Lentil Soup

Maggie's Lentil Soup

5 cups water, chicken broth or vegetable broth
1 cup dry lentils, picked clean
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
½ large onion, chopped
1 rib celery, chopped
1 bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 cup sliced carrots
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon curry powder
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 medium potato, peeled and diced

Cook first 8 ingredients for 45 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and cook until potato is tender
