Almost Shoney’s Strawberry Pie
3 tbsp. cornstarch
3 tbsp. strawberry gelatin powder
1 cup sugar
1 cup warm water
1 tbsp. red food coloring
1/2 to 1 qt. strawberries, washed
1 baked pie crust, cooled
Whipped cream
Combine cornstarch, gelatin, sugar, water and coloring in a saucepan. Cook until thick. Add strawberries when cool and pour into pie shell. Refrigerate into cold. Top with whipped cream.
Makes 6 to 8 servings
